Have you ever allowed feelings to dictate truth?
Truth is found in Scripture. We can read these identity declarations all day, but does that mean we’ll feel like we embody all of them overnight? The reality we must accept is our feelings will betray us. They lie to us and can twist the intent of words spoken to us. Feelings are tools to help us navigate life, but they should never have the final say. Feeling these declarations deep in our hearts probably won’t happen overnight, but hopefully over time, as we align our minds and hearts with the truth of God’s word, our feelings will get in line as well.
How can we have hope for a changed life? A change feeling in our hearts? God’s word is alive! It’s active and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of spirit and soul, to both joint and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intent of the heart (Heb. 4:12). God’s word has the power to change us.
Rounding out the series, we’re reading the last identity declarations. I hope they resonate loudly in your heart.
