Christ at Christmas, Part 3

Happy Friday!

It’s the season to be merry. Feeling merry or melancholy? How are you managing? Have you survived this week or thrived?

Christ can get lost in the Christmas season. All the shopping, gift-giving, cooking, parties, dance recitals, piano recitals, end of the year projects due at work. The list could go on and on. I would challenge you to make time for Christ. It is during the most stressful and busy times in life that we need to feel the presence of our Lord and Savior the most. He, Jesus, is our peace. Emmanual came down from heaven to be with us. Peace is a person—it’s Jesus Himself as Ephesians 2:14 says, “He himself is our peace.”

We’ve been looking at all the things Jesus came to do when he put on human flesh 2,000 years ago. Refer to last Friday’s post to view the other ways. Here’s this week’s list:

Christ came to…

1.     Fulfill the Law and Prophets. (Matthew 5:17)

2.     Reveal God’s love for sinners. (John 3:16)

3.     Call sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17)

4.     Die. (John 12:24-27)

5.     Seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:5, 9-10)

6.     Serve. (Mark 10:45)
