Sheep: Lesson from the Good Shepherd

New Series!

In this series, we’ll look at the characteristics of sheep. Since we as believers are often compared to sheep in the Bible, we can learn a few lessons from these animals for application in our own walk.

Unfortunately, being compared to a sheep is not considered a great thing, and yet we discover the comparison all over Scripture.

Sheep are dirty, smelly, helpless, and often hard-headed. Not only are sheep challenged in the cleanliness category, but they don’t add much to the relationship with their shepherd. Sheep must be led to food and water, enjoy wandering around, and often get lost.

It is a little insulting to be compared to sheep so often in Scripture, but can you understand why? How are we as believers similar to sheep?

See you next Friday, where we’ll look at the Good Shepherd.
