Nevertheless, part 3

“For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.”

God doesn’t always pick the smartest in the class, the strongest on the team, or the bravest in the group. Oftentimes, He chooses the weak, the small, the lowly, the forgotten. The one pushed to the side deemed unfit for any good use. Why? Because His strength is made perfect in our weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9)

Feeling unworthy? Like you could never accomplish anything for the kingdom of God? Sounds like you’re in just the right place for God to use you for His glory.

You are not powerful, of noble birth, or considered wise… But God… He chose you anyway.

If that doesn’t excite you today, I don’t know what could! Despite our many failings and weaknesses, God chooses us. He can use us for amazing things. He invites us along, and we get to be a part of His rescue mission. Mindblowing!

What is your takeaway from this “but God” verse?
