Don't Give Up!🧡
Waiting is hard, isn't it? So often, good things take time. We can be reminded of this when we look at a pumpkin patch. A beautiful field of orange invites us to meander through rows and rows until we select the right one for our home. Then, it sits poised perfectly on a porch, table, or fireplace as a representation of fall.
But that pumpkin only realized its full potential in October. It was a slow process of seed, sprout, vine, flower, and fruit. We generally don't see the "behind the scenes" growth over several months; we simply marvel at the final product—a small miracle of the garden.
In our everyday lives, we often wait for something more substantial. We dream of something or long for change, answers, and even miracles. And, although waiting is tough, sometimes it is a process in which we learn, grow, and find Jesus. Just as the following individuals in the Bible experienced and found Jesus in the "wait."
*A group of fishermen had been fishing all night, waiting for a catch, with no success. Getting into Simon's boat, Jesus said, "Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish." (Luke 5: 1-11 NLT)
*A woman who suffered from a bleeding disorder for 12 years waited for healing. Touching the robe of Jesus, she was healed. "Daughter, he said to her, "your faith has made you well. Go in peace." (Luke 8:40 - 48)
*A paralyzed man was lying in wait for 38 years to be healed by the pool of Bethesda. Jesus had compassion, knowing the man had been ill for many years, and said to him, "Pick up your mat and walk!" (John 5:1-9 NLT)
Don't give up! Don't miss out on meeting God in these moments. Hold onto faith in modern-day miracles. If you are in a season of waiting, I pray you continue to lean on God and reap a harvest of blessings!
