God calls Moses while he's tending his father-in-law's flocks to deliver the entire nation of Israel from the hands of the Egyptians. Pharaoh was essentially the most powerful man on earth at this time as Egypt was easily one of the greatest civilizations during this day. Moses gives God a list of reasons why he can't follow through with the call. Moses' first excuse is basically saying, "I'm not adequate for the job." And I love God's response, "But I'll be with you." God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called as I'm sure you've heard quoted before. Isn't that all we really need to know? That God will be with us? In whatever it is that He is calling you to in this new year or perhaps just a new season for some of us, know that He is with you. He promises to always be with us (Matthew 28:20). He is a good and perfect Father and He is for us.
