Matthew 26:39

"Not my will." Jesus prayed.

Surrender is difficult. Giving up the control we believe we have is difficult. But isn't that what lordship is all about? When Jesus becomes our Savior, He is Lord. If Jesus prayed for His Father's will to be done over His own, how much more should we pray the same? It isn't easy to open our hands, but neither was the cross, and Jesus chose to be obedient to His Father's will over His own and go to the cross, knowing it would cost Him everything.
