Happy Friday!

Let’s jump into a few storylines from the past and see who they are, what titles they were given based on their choices or occupation, and how God chose to carry out His will.
This is a very small snapshot of these Old Testament greats. Many pages are devoted to giving small details and quotes from their journey. So, if you’re interested in reading more, I’ve included the Scripture reference for you.
1. Jacob—a deceiver. Jacob’s story is found in Genesis 27-28. God chose Jacob to be the father of the Israelite nation. What a task!
2. Joseph—a slave. Joseph’s story is found in Genesis 37, 39-50. God used Joseph to save his family and many others from a famine. Can you imagine all Joseph endured by the hands of his own family?
3. Moses—shepherd in exile and a murderer. Moses’ story is all throughout the book of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. God tasked Moses with leading His people, the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt and to the Promised Land. No small task!
4. Gideon—a farmer. Gideon’s story can be found in Judges 6:11-14. God tasks Gideon with delivering His people, the Israelites from Midian. Gideon’s story is a great one!
5. Jephthah—son of a prostitute. Jephthah’s story is found in Judges 11. God uses Jephthah to deliver Israel from the Ammonites.
See you next week for the final round of people from the Old Testament. Common people who accomplished extraordinary things all because of their mighty God working in and through them.
