More than a story
There is a reason God chose to communicate His wonderful redemption message to the world through written word. The majority of Scripture is a storyline, following the lives of real historical people who, though ordinary and very relatable, God used to accomplish His will. Stories are powerful and have the ability to remain with us long after we slide the book back on the bookshelf.
Why do I write?
1
A calling
In 2018, I felt the Lord calling me to pursue my love of writing during a message on the parable of the talents by my pastor, Joby Martin, titled, "Don't Waste Your Life." Joby challenged believers to examine their time, treasures and talents, considering how to leverage each to share the hope of the gospel.
2
A reawakening
I hope to relate the hope of the gospel through story. For the believer, stories can reawaken our need and affections for Jesus. God can even use a fictional story to draw our hearts closer to Himself or convict us of areas in our life that do not honor Him.
3
A stirring
I hope God will use my stories to stir the heart and mind of the unbeliever in the comfortable, familiar setting of fiction.
